Pedagogical Interventions for Professional Excellence in Management Education" FDP at NICMAR, Pune
NICMAR Centre for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD) organized a Faculty Development Programme titled “Pedagogical Interventions for Professional Excellence in Management Teaching”, on 3-4 May and 5-6 May, 2022 for two batches of its faculty at Pune campus. The resource person for the FDP was Dr. R. Srinivasan, Professor and Chairperson of MBA & MBA (Business Analytics) programmes at IIM Bangalore. He engaged the faculty for two days in interactive sessions providing hands-on experience of teaching-learning processes, various pedagogical tools, course design basics, assessments and evaluation, case study method and feedback processes. It was an excellent learning experience and much appreciated by all faculty members. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Anil Kashyap, Director General, NICMAR.
Teaching, Learning and Assessment Practices in U.K. Universities
NICMAR Centre for Continuing Professional Development organized a talk on ,”Teaching, Learning and Assessment Practices in U.K. Universities” by Dr. Poonam Kashyap, Senior Lecturer in Engineering Management, University of West England (UWE Bristol), at NICMAR Pune Campus on 10th March 2022.
In her address, Dr. Kashyap emphasized upon the immense possibilities in teaching and research if faculty members across diverse areas start collaborating. Further, she discussed the various options with respect to student engagement and assessment. Espousing about the teaching, learning, and assessment practices in U.K. Universities, she explained to the audience the integrated mechanism for delivery as well as assessment of courses. In her talk, Dr. Kashyap highlighted the importance of Problem-based learning (PBL), simultaneous sharing of information with the various stakeholders, and engagement of industry experts in delivery of select topics. For assessment of students, she emphasized upon employing moderation as well as assessment rubrics.
The session was well attended by NICMAR Pune faculty and was followed by enthusiastic interaction with the resource person. It helped to trigger a lot of meaningful interactions on pedagogy and innovative teaching learning methods.


Faculty Development Programme for Deans and Head
The first Faculty Development Programme for Deans and Heads of NICMAR Pune was held on October 23, 2021. The topics covered were Managerial Skills in the Workplace, Leadership, Interpersonal Communication, Organizational Culture and Team Building. Mr. Sharad Sunkar and Dr. Kirti Rajhans were the resource persons. The programme provided an excellent platform for interesting deliberations and active participation.
Faculty Development Programmes for all Faculty of NICMAR Pune
Two Faculty Development Programmes for all Faculty of NICMAR Pune were held on November 13, and 20, 2021 in two batches. The topics covered were Managerial Skills in the Workplace, Interpersonal Skills, Organizational Culture, Conflict Resolution and Team Building. Mr. Sharad Sunkar, Dr. Kirti Rajhans, Dr. Amit Hiray, Dr. Arpita Mathur, and Dr. Ashish Rastogi were the resource persons. Both the batches witnessed enthusiastic participation.
Gender Sensitization Training for Faculty and Staff
Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), NICMAR Pune, in association with Centre for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD), NICMAR Pune, organized a gender sensitization training program, titled , ‘Harmony: A Dialogue on Workplace Inclusivity’, for the faculty members at all campuses on December 10, 2021 (Friday) and December 22, 2021 (Wednesday). The senior staff of all the campuses also attended the training program on December 22, 2021. While the faculty of Pune Campus attended the program in person, faculties from Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, and Goa campuses joined virtually. Col. (Retd.) Anand Bapat, a certified gender sensitization training expert from National Labour Institute, Noida was the resource person. The participants were sensitized to the role that gender plays in their professional and personal lives. The training also covered the legal aspect of sexual harassment at workplace and the workings of the Internal Complaints Commitee in this regard. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation by the faculty members and senior staff attending both offline and online. Both the training programs were graced with the presence of honourable Director General of NICMAR, Dr. Anil Kashyap, who also addressed the gatherings on the important and sensitive issue of workplace inclusivity.
















Faculty Development Programme at Hyderabad campus
A one-day Faculty Development Workshop was conducted for all the faculty members of NICMAR Hyderabad on 6th December 2021. The topics covered were Managerial Skills for the Workplace, Interpersonal Skills and Team Building Skills, Conflict Resolution, Leadership and Organisational Culture. Ms.Jeyalakshmi Coppishetty, Dr.V.Pramadha, Dr.Savitha Chilakamarri and Dr. Dr.Umamaheswara Rao Jada were the resource persons. The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from the faculty members.


Webinar on Effective Teaching in an Online Mode
NICMAR Centre for Continuing Professional Development organized a webinar for faculty members of all NICMAR campuses on one of the most relevant pedagogical concerns in today’s educational environment, “How do we engage in the online world? A few experiences” on 18th February, 2022.
Dr. Pradeep Racherla, Professor of Marketing and Program Director Mahindra University, School of Management, Hyderabad was the expert speaker who shared a few important tips on teaching effectively in an online mode. The webinar received an enthusiastic participation from faculty members of all NICMAR campuses, in which they shared their experiences and challenges of teaching online and made some interesting deliberations on how to overcome them.
