NICMAR university is an innovative, futuristic and modern university with a proud tradition of pioneering high-quality education in the niche professional areas of construction, real estate, infrastructure, project management and business management.
NICMAR University, Pune was established after NICMAR University, Pune, Act. (L. C. Bill No. Of 2022) was passed by Maharashtra State Government, on 16th March, 2022 and appeared in “Maharashtra Government Gazette”, on the 12th May 2022 (Mah. Act No. XXXVI of 2022) for the development and advancement of higher education in the State of Maharashtra.
The university aims to create an aspiring and motivating destination for students, where they can fulfil their dreams of carving their own niche in a variety of professional careers. Our students greatly benefit from the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, encouraging teaching learning environment and highly experienced faculty in all academic disciplines. At NICMAR university, we are committed to solve global as well as sectoral challenges by offering highly skilled professionals to the industry and by inculcating a culture of meaningful research and enterprise.
NICMAR University Pune campus is situated at Balewadi, 14 kms. away from the Pune Central Railway Station and 7 kms. away from Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPU). The Mumbai-Bangalore Expressway runs along the campus.

I am delighted to have been appointed to lead, as Vice Chancellor of the globally renowned institute in construction management with four campuses in India. Realising the vision of transforming and transitioning NICMAR University Pune into a new space of wider built environment education and research institute of international repute, producing employment ready graduates, to meet the demands of ambitious construction and infrastructure projects at home and globally, are my immediate priorities.

Our Roots
The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), was established in India as an autonomous, non-government, not for profit academic body, on September 1983 as a ‘Society’ and a public charitable ‘Trust’. The express objective of the institute was engaging in activities for the promotion of training, research, professionalism and skill formation at all levels of the construction and other allied industries. Major academic programmes of the Institute were started with technical assistance from UNDP and academic inputs from the faculty of MIT-USA, University of Michigan – USA, ILO, University of Loughbourgh and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Since its inception, NICMAR has been a leading educational institute offering various post graduate programmes in specialized areas like construction management, project engineering and management, real estate management, infrastructure management, family owned construction business management, contemporary smart city development management, general management, energy and environment and allied areas. NICMAR is recognised by Government of India as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation- SIRO.
From being a pioneering educational institute in the niche area of construction management and allied areas, NICMAR has spread its wings to become a new age private university for dissemination of knowledge and for meaningful contribution towards the technological, economic and social development of a larger global community. NICMAR university aspires to be a unique destination of modern age education by inculcating a culture of innovation and excellence in teaching, research, career development and enterprise for creating global leaders in a wide variety of disciplines.
